About The Doosan
The Doosan DX180LC-5 HT is a heavy-duty excavator set up specifically for mechanised tree felling and forestry work. Its HT (High Track) undercarriage provides higher ground clearance, allowing safer operation over stumps, brash mats, and uneven terrain. The wider track setup also spreads the machine’s weight more effectively, helping to reduce ground pressure and minimise soil compaction.
The machine is fitted with high-torque hydraulics suitable for tree shears, grapples, and felling heads. This enables controlled, directional felling in line with BS3998 good practice, while reducing reliance on ground-based chainsaw felling. It also gives operators better control during cutting, holding, and placing material.
